the traffic makes it unsafe for the residents that live on the dead end. There's only one way in or out, residents can't get to their homes, emergencies vehicles can't get down the road if needed. It essentially shuts the road down to the people who live there, forcing residents to wait for a never ending flow of cars. Not to mention the garbage thrown up and down the road from waiting cars. And it seems no matter what they do to solve the problem, it just keeps gettin worse every year, as the show brings more and more viewers every year.

This seems as if it is a genuine safety concern for all involved and it surprises me that a municipality would want to take on such a liability, because with this petition and voiced concerns it would be negligent for them to sit by and do nothing.

Please get this show OFF of Lakeview Avenue! I would love to make a Family Tradition of going to the show, but I WILL NOT put my Family in danger by going to the show in this location... It is just crazy to me that a 'community organization' such as GSSC have such disregard for the community.... disgusting.

The safety of the residents must come first! Supervisor Croci said it best last year in saying that the Girl Scouts were victims of their own success and had outgrown this location. The Town offered Hechscher Park for this event as far better suited. The Girl Scouts should work with the Town to make this a reality and an even more successful event.

For people who do not know, the 2014 Girl Scouts of Suffolk Inc. Holiday Light show ran with a pre-printed ticket policy stipulation in the Town permit. The Girl Scout executives decided to sell tickets via cell phones on Lakeview anyway. This breach of ethics caused a "carpocalypse" at the intersection of Lakeview and Montauk Highway for 10 days. Regardless of the Girl Scouts' ticket-sale tactics, the fact remains Lakeview is a narrow, dead end street in a AAA residential district and is totally unsuitable for such an event. The last day of the light show created yet another lock down on Lakeview for 3 1/2 hours with no hope of prompt emergency response if needed. Although Senator Croci has been working to relocate the Light Show for the Girl Scouts, the Organization insists on keeping it on Lakeview. It makes NO sense! The police presence is required, and the taxpayers are flipping the bill. Supervisor Angie Carpenter will have the 2015 permit in front of her as soon as next month for a vote. It is public knowledge that Supervisor Carpenter is the sister of Mary Garote, Director of Development for Girl Scouts of Suffolk County. Ms. Garote presented the 2014 permit for approval to the board last year. In the interest of transparency, shouldn't the Supervisor recuse herself from the vote? I hope the Town Council has heard our plea for public safety following the 2014 Light Show, as we have provided videos, photos, and plenty of testimony on the dangers created due to the venue. There will always be a major Dark Side of this Light Show as long as it is held in Camp Edey with only one way in and one way out 4,000 feet off Montauk Highway. How can anyone claim the Light Show is safe on Lakeview or follows Town Code 36-11 Section C?
