The board finally caved and scrapped their garbage proposal today. We forced them to back down because we refused to stay silent. Keep your eyes open for what these bureaucrats try to pull next.
The board members are still hiding behind their closed doors and refusing to answer for these policies. They think if they ignore us long enough we will just go away. They are dead wrong.

The momentum behind this effort is undeniable and it proves that the people at the top can no longer ignore our demands. Their silence is cowardice but this surge of pressure forces them into a corner where they have nowhere left to hide.

One hundred people have signed this and yet the board still refuses to acknowledge the harm they are causing. This is just the beginning of the noise we are going to make until they finally listen.

This plan will destroy wild life. We see two herrons in the field right next to where it will be. This is the access route we use to walk from our house to the park. It will affect the natural atmosphere of Hetton Lyons park.

I have used the car park many times when walking the dog and walk through with my granddaughter in her push chair. I also agree that it would take away access for older and less fit members of our local community to the fishing that they enjoy.

We need to keep the car park for locals. Also Hetton Angling club who do so much for young and old within the local community. And 1st Eppleton Scout Group based in Hetton-le-Hole have benefited from coaching every summer and meet and help in the car park.

Angling supports a lot of people. And for Angling Clubs to lose a facility as important as there car park will impact on the club to offer fishing to the young, old, and disabled ,and the community. So Please think again Sunderland C.C.

Speaking as someone who makes use of Hetton Lyons Country Park on a weekly basis this proposal is completely unacceptable - the car park is in constant use and taking it away will discourage a lot of people from visiting the park.

100% against this! Hetton country park has experienced travellers in car parks before and the aftermath was horrendous! Dirty nappies etc left all over the place!
Sunderland city council give your heads a shake

AS i can see the point in having transit areas for travellers, I am sure that the cherished hetton park should not be used as a scapegoat, for the councils incompetence in finding a proper site for the travellers

Vital car park for anglers, dog walkers, cyclists, runners; the entire park, the big lake, BMX track and play park will be destroyed if travellers get in. These amenities are for our local residents, and travellers will have little respect for anything in their vicinity.
