Hitmans Zoning Petition

TOWN OF KNOXPETITION TO AMEND ZONING ORDINANCE
TO: THE TOWN OF KNOX TOWN BOARD, PLANNING BOARD and ZONING BOARD of APPEALSI, Kristen Reynders, a resident of the Town of Knox residing at 1039 Township Road, Altamont, New York petition to amend the zoning law as follows:
1. Article V Section 50 (A)(1)(a) dealing with home occupation. The law currently states “in any district nothing in this Ordinance shall prevent individuals from conducting their business, trade or profession in their home or residence provided no one other than the owner or tenant of the property is employed on the premises, that no other business person, trades person or professional shall be permitted to share, let or sublet space for any use;...”
We propose that this section be
amended to state that “in any district nothing in this Ordinance shall prevent
individuals from conducting their business, trade or profession in their home
or residence provided that the owner or tenant of the property shall employ no
more than two additional individuals on the premises, ...”
Article IV Section 45 - Business Uses - This section currently lists
“Public Garage” as a non-permitted use in a residential district. We propose changing the “N” to a “C” which
would designate a public garage as a “temporary and/or conditional use
contingent on securing a Special Use Permit in each case from the Zoning Board
Amend Article III - Section 41(3) District Boundaries Business. The law currently states that there are no
areas presently so designated. We would
like this section to be amended to create a business/ mixed use district
encompassing the property known as 1039
Township Road in the Town of Knox.
A legal description of the business/mixed use district shall be
determined by the Town.
The proposed changes listed above should be reviewed and considered individually and not as a whole.
