One of the reasons that we chose to send our daughter to Muscota New School is the quality art programs that they offer. Dan and Sasha are the core of the school identity and essential to our children's education.

We need Dan and Sasha. It has been a challenging year and my son looks forward to both of these classes. As a parent, the reason we choose Muscota was due to the fantastic Music and Arts program. This school would not be the same without Dan and Sasha.

Dan and Sasha are integral parts of the Muscota community. With all of the ways our school has changed this year due to Covid, our students need the vital services they provide to maintain some sense of normalcy and community. As a parent, the reason I chose this school was because of the classes these amazing teachers provide. Our school absolutely needs to keep these superb teachers.

As all of these parent signatures and comments show, Dan and Sasha, our Music and Visual Arts teachers, are an essential part of our school community. It’s not only that art and music are essential but these two wonderful teachers are essential to our school and cannot be replaced with anyone else. They help make Muscota New School a safe, supportive, engaging cultural community that our children need now more than ever! They are both models of what a public school teacher should be. During this pandemic they have continued to bring creative, inventive, interactive education to the whole community. Even in this virtual time, Dan organizes and leads many of our community events, from our weekly town meeting to our 5th grade moving on ceremony. To remove Dan and Sasha this year would be a punishment to these children, to the parents, and to these two exceptional teachers who have gone above and beyond for our community and deserve our support more than ever.

It is disheartening that on top of all the changes this pandemic has put our children to, that we also have to take away professionals that have been key to their educational success. Dan and Sasha are indispensable. They're passionate about their craft and have built relationships with our kids that can't just be replaced by any other staff. We NEED them back in our school. I can't imagine this school year without them.

Our decision to send our children to Muscota rather than our great zoned school was not just because of the arts. It was, very specifically because of the particular arts teachers at Muscota, and the excellence they bring. Dan and Sasha are an essential and irreplaceable part of the heart and soul of our school and our children's experience in it. Muscota is not Muscota without them.
