Hindi is not included in the Federal Government announcement on 15 September 2014 about launching a new $9.8 million pilot program to deliver foreign language “apps” into 40 preschools next year. Please refer to the link below

As you can see French, Arabic, Indonesian, Japanese or Mandarin are included but Hindi is not included.

Seeing five hundred names on this list feels surreal because it means I am not the only one who wants my child to learn Hindi through this program. I am truly grateful that so many of you understand why this inclusion is vital for our families.

My own children deserve to see their heritage reflected in these new learning tools. We are getting very near the hundred signature mark and hitting that goal today will force officials to finally take notice of our community.

Hindi is a vital language and must be taught in schools for betterment of younger generations to trade with Indian counterparts. India is one of the fastest growing economy and India is or will be an importatnt trading partner for Australia.
India is perhaps the largest export of education and recently we have seen teh PM and senior ministers flocking to India. yet they choose to ignore its natioanl language that too when nearly half a million of Hindi speaking persons live here.
Promoting Hindi in Australia signals Australia's sincerity in seeking deeper ties with India. It is also important to promote Hindi in order to recognise significant contributions from Hindi speaking community to this country.
Learning and knowing two languages is actually understanding two cultures. If Australian Indian kids will be able to understand their roots and identity today, tomorrow they will be able to contribute in the growth of their country with more confidence and pride.
Being migrant (India), I always feel that I am unable to provide adequate means for my Kids to learn our Native language Hindi. And with government decision not to include Hindi as foreign language, will dishearten the hopes of many parents, as myself.
I think Hindi should be included and every Indian should participate in this compaign.
We should stick to our roots les we forget it.
