Continue the Dharmic and Punjabi class for little children in Regina Gurudwara Sahib
The committee of the Gurudwara in Regina is uncertain whether they need a dharmic and Punjabi class to teach little children in the Gurudwara and are considering discontinuing it.
We need you to show us support and sign this petition if you believe that your children should have the opportunity to learn Punjabi and about Sikhi in class in the Gurudwara.
With your help, we can convince the committee of the need to continue the class and hire Ms. Amarjit Kaur.

I have been meeting with committee members this week to discuss how much these classes mean to our families. It is clear that we need to keep pushing because our children deserve a space to learn their heritage and language together.

We think it’s necessary because if the parents are busy at least there is a place where the kids get to learn speaking and writing Punjabi. That’s why we should have Punjabi teachers.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ ਲਿਪੀ ਰਹੀ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ,ਸੋ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੰਪਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਲੂ ਰੱਖਣਾ,ਹਰ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਚ,ਜਿੱਥੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਆਮ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਖਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ।

Yes, undoubtedly, I agree with the dharmik and punjabi class to be continued in Gurudwara Sahib Regina bcoz it’s the only way and ‘“the” place to teach gurmukhi to our our kids especially for those who don’t have grandparents at home in canada where parents are busy.
