The High Meadow subdivision is long overdue for road resurfacing. This beautiful neighborhood backing up to Sugar Creek Valley still has the original roads from the early 1970's making the roads over 40 years old. Numerous potholes cause original owners anxiety while walking and many children have suffered skinned knees and crashed bikes as a result of the road conditions. Curbs are either none existent or falling into the street. After paying 40+ years of taxes collectively we hope to see the city reinvest some of those back into the neighborhood. We love our neighborhood and continually invest in maintaining and improving our homes so we ask the city to please schedule us for road resurfacing as soon as possible.

I spent the morning walking down Miller Drive and the cracks are getting worse which makes me worried about the kids playing after school. I am working on a packet of photos to send to the public works office because maybe they just need a visual reminder of what we are dealing with every single day out here.

I can hardly believe how much steam this has gathered because honestly I thought people had just accepted the craters in the pavement as part of the landscaping. It feels like the city might finally have to look our way instead of ignoring the crumbling curbs and the kids getting hurt on their bikes.

Our streets are in very bad condition. I have 4 children who have all fallen off their bikes because of the unevenness and sloppy patch work. Our curbs are also falling apart. I had a friend who says that our streets totally turn her away from Kirkwood. I do not understand why Sunny Drive off of Lindemann have already received new concrete streets and their neighborhood is newer than ours...we cannot even get blacktop!!!

My wife and I have lived in the High Meadow Subdivision for 40 years and were among its first residents. During that time the streets (Grassy Ridge Road, Woodfin Court and the south side of Rieth Terrace) have received almost no attention regarding repairs. If my memory is correct, only once during that time was a new (thin) layer of asphalt and gravel put on the streets, and that was probably 20 years or more ago. Except for a few isolated patch jobs, the curbs have never been repaired. The current condition of the streets in our neighborhood is completely inconsistent with what one would expect from a quality neighborhood in Kirkwood.

Our streets are in deplorable condition. With no sidewalks , small children walking to the bus stop at the entrance to the neighborhood must walk through large, lengthy worn down trenches, massive potholes and constant puddles. The sides of the street have loose gravels from the half-hearted attempts by the city to put a band aid on the street problem making it unsafe for bikes and scooters. The 29 children in our neighborhood deserve to be able to walk, run, bike and play safely.

We have been residents of High Meadow subdivision for 40 years and have watched our property taxes go higher and higher and our streets and curbs get worse and worse. They are now in an embarrassing , dilapidated and dangerous condition. We feel that the resurfacing of our streets should become a priority n Kirkwood's agenda.

We have repeatedly requested to resurface/repave our High Meadow Subdivision for years from the street department ... to no avail. We need ALL the neighbors to sign the petition.

There is a low area on the street in front of our house. After any amount of rain a large puddle of water collects. There is often standing water on that par of the street. The street has deteriorated in that area.
