The wage increase was finally approved after a fight that left me entirely drained. It feels surreal to see this change happen when so many doors were slammed in our faces. Stay vigilant because we need to ensure that every facility actually follows through on these new rates.

Certified Nursing Assistants: The unsung hero. The job details a very heavy workload. They do a special job of caring for some many different types of people, but treat them all as family! It could be you, your loved one, who one day needs the care of a nursing assistant. They clean bodily waste, feed those that can't feed themselves. Dress those that can't dress themselves. Some nursing assistant draw blood, do blood sugars, take ekg's, assist with wound care andtake daily vitals. Nursing assistants arejust asat risk ora higher risk of contracting infectious andnon infectious diseasesas doctors and nurses. In all reality nursing assistants are needed to keep hospitals, nursing homes, day cares, schools, doctor's offices and many other public service places running. Certified nursing assistants deserve a higher pay wage. Nurses are paid twenty or more dollars an hour. Nursing assistants are just as important as a nurse. Ten or fifteendollars an hour for a nursing assistant is not a good wage. My goal is raise the pay wage for a certified nursing assistant to at least seventeen dollars an hour and not have to work your entire career to get there! If you have years invested in this trade you deserve a decent pay wage. If you feel certified nursing assistants are underpaid, overworked, unheard, unseen and unappreciated. Sign this petition and tell our goverment we are the unsung hero and we deserve better pay and benefits.

Seeing this grow has been exhausting but deeply grounding. It is clear that so many of you see the toll this work takes and refuse to look away anymore.

I love my job , I work in a facility as well in homes. My previous job was of 23 yrs of physical labor with higher pay of course and never did I work as hard or not be able to lift my legs into my car at the end of the shift as I do as a CNA but I love my job and the care I can give to others

I think there definitely is a great need for more wages and more quote ratio for how many patients per CNA. There is a great gap already in care the disabled and elderly and way to much turn over in staff.

I'm tired of working short staff, underappreciated and underpaid for my skills. Why RN's and LPN's salaries go high and CNA's salary stays very low? I feel it's not right just because CNAs don't have a degree that companies ( nursing - homes ) pay CNAs such a low degrading salary for our skills.

We are under paid and under appreciated, however I love taking care of my residents, all 14 of them and sometimes more. It is a hard field to be in emotionally, physically, and mentally. If you have never seen a nurses aide in action please visit your loca nursing home.

As a cna I made 7.25/hour it takes a long time to make 10/15 an hour. CNAs do a physically demanding job. Our employers should value us more and we should get paid a decent wage. People at burger king made what we make for crying out loud.

I’m a patient care tech at a hospital in Florida making $16 an hr and feel as if we should be appreciated more and deserves than what we make

CNA’s deserve a much higher pay rate than what they offer. It’s ridiculous if u ask me. Being a Cna is hard work and takes a tole on your body. Grocery stores make more fast food make more it’s not right.!!!
