Final supporters
Between 2020 and 2025, Highways England will be undertaking massive junction and roundabout improvements on the A52 between Clifton Bridge and Bingham. During these works there will inevitably be increased traffic congestion and it is highly likely that drivers will consider Wilford Lane / Loughborough Rd / Radcliffe Rd as a route that avoids the works and queues at Nottingham Knight and Wheatcroft roundabouts.
We the undersigned call upon Nottinghamshire County Council (Highways) in conjunction with Highways England to impose a weight restriction for traffic on Wilford Lane, in both East and West bound directions, between Ruddington Lane traffic lights and Loughborough Road traffic lights to prevent Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV) from using this route, other than for deliveries to premises on Wilford Lane.

I live on Ruddington lane and the Lorries are damaging the road , these are mostly the Gypsum Lorries taking short cuts , should be a weight restriction on Ruddington lane and Wilford . Access for deliveries to local business’s needs to be allowed .
With the new retirement homes, two schools, Roko, and the tram crossing, and the new housing adjacent to Roko, this road is already far too busy and hastoo many properties right on the roadside for HGV's. Yes, ban them! Compton acres too.
We already suffer with the number of HGV's with the associated noise and ground vibration on Wilford lane - something needs to be done to prevent this increasing during the road work period. 4 Wilford Lane, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 7QX
The current traffic situation is causing vibration damage to our property because the road and the older properties were not designed to withstand it e.g the houses do not have concrete foundations, they stand on sandstone which crumbles with vibration at the current magnitude and frequency.
The number of heavy goods vehicles using Wilford Lane has increased dramatically over the last 10 years. I am very concerned by the air & noise pollution as well as the rate of accidents at the mini roundabout at the entry to the road up to the Emmanuel school & Gresham Playing fields.
I live quite close to Becket School, and the speed the vehicles drive at I am surprised a child hasn't been injured.

Must include Ruddington Lane in this restriction plan else will create even more rat-run traffic on even smaller and more residential roads than Wilford Lane. Heavy Goods Vehicles should only be allowed anywhere in the country on A and M roads except for access to premises.
