We the undersigned, concerned by speeding and the lack of vision whilst exiting Heol Y Foel, ask RCT Council to work in conjunction with the police to invesitgate and implement suitable remedial methods to address it.

I really thought this would just be a quiet note to the council but your response has been overwhelming. It is clear that so many of you share this worry about the junction and that collective feeling is what keeps this moving forward.

You simply can't see the cars coming - they are on top of you as you exit Heol -Y Foel. Particularly dangerous on a bike. Often ride way past the junction when coming home by bike to have a look up the hill to ensure its safe to turn into Heol Y Foel - some effort on a steep incline.

I have on many occasions had very many close calls when trying to exit this junction and also trying to get back onto Heol y Foel. How I haven’t been hit by speeding cars coming down the hill is nothing but a miracle. I have lived on Heol y Foel since 1986 and it’s just got worse and worse. Another problem we have coming down this hill is the Traffic lights, drivers on a daily basis and I mean a daily basis continue to drive through RED LIGHTS. It’s absolutely shocking.

I like in Llys Llywelyn which is off Heol Y Foel. It feels like a gamble every time I leave this junction or enter it. A number of times I have turned to enter the junction and had to stop in the middle of the road or felt my heart skip a beat seeing another car racing around the corner towards me. I'm amazed I've not been crashed into in the 5 years I've been living here but I do worry about the more cautious/elderly neighbours who may not be able to react quickly enough to get out of the way or stop for one of the dangerous drivers coming around the corner. Please do something about it before something bad happens.

This junction is deadly, too many cars speed down the hill past this junction not giving enough time to pull out our stay safe, it's a miracle no one has been killed, I've lived here 11 years and nearly been involved in dozens of collisions because of the downhill speed.

Very dangerous junction, just waiting for Avery nasty accident to happen. It’s right on the bend in the road and sight of oncoming traffic is very poor.

Many a time I have gone to pull out and a speeding car has come round the corner and I have had to break sharply. It’s the same for turning in, it is such a blind corner and you cannot see the cars until the last minute, and the majority are traveling too fast for the road conditions. It’s also very difficult for people crossing the road too !

I have lived in Heol-Y-Foel for 19 years and it's a gamble every time I enter or exit my street onto Pen-Yr-Eglwys. Drivers come around the corner too fast, and it's just luck that I haven't had a collision there yet. If I want to turn right to go up Pen-Yr-Eglwys, it really is a chance you have to take.

Exiting Heol y Foel is always a gamble with cars driving too fast down Pen yr Eglwys. You simply can't see the cars until they are virtually level with you. The same goes when turning into Heol y Foel. A dangerous junction indeed.
