Whereas, the city of Hendersonville has a mayoral election in November;
Whereas, two candidates for Hendersonville mayor have accepted more than $40,000 in campaign contributions from people who don’t live in Hendersonville;
Whereas, those two candidates’ depend on outside sources for almost half of the total money raised;
Whereas, receiving money from outside Hendersonville raises legitimate concerns about influence, trust and corruption;
We ask that candidates for Hendersonville mayor return all money they have received from people who don’t live in Hendersonville.

The refusal of these candidates to address the outside money flowing into our local election is exhausting. I am still digging through the donor disclosures to find every last cent sent from across state lines. Please keep looking at those documents because it is the only way we keep the pressure on.

We need to keep outside influences out of our election process! Hendersonville needs to look to improving the quality of life here (parks, greenspaces, community center,
It's time people who make decisions for Hendersonville do it for the good of the current residents of Hendersonville. We've had a decade of our city officials never seeing a development they did not like even when it was obvious the change did not benefit anyone but developers.
I am concerned that candidates receiving money from outside Hendersonville may lead to influence, trust, and corruption.
I believe this is a bad practice that should be stopped ! A true conflict of interest .
I know all the candidates and consider them good men; but I do agree that all campaign donations should come from residents of Hendersonville. Let's hope this election will focus on the suburban decay and urban sprawl that Hendersonville is facing, as well as our growing traffic and crime issues.
Keep outside money out of the Hendersonville mayoral race.
Keep donations local and "clean as Caesar's wife". Thereby no questions.
