It is a shame that the tennis complex portion of Henderson Park - of which real estate and funding were set aside for - hasn't materialized. Eight years ago, I was easily able to find enough 3.5 men to field a team to compete in the Savannah Area Tennis Association's (SATA) USTA League Tennis. There were also enough players to field another 3.5 team and possibly a 4.0 team. By now the number of players in the Richmond Area has probably more than doubled. The the Richmond Hill community will not be able to compete in USTA League Team Tennis as long as they do not have quality tennis courts with a suitable number of courts for league matches. Additionally, it needs to be pointed out that Bryan County, the city of Richmond Hill, and/or RHATA don't need to worry that they will have to carry the load. The United States Tennis Association (USTA) as well as the Georgia Tennis Association (GTA) and SATA will be resources for help. Lastly, it is an excellent family activity that not only promotes a healthy lifestyle, but is also an excellent heart healthy activity for mature adults. One only has to see the positive impact that SATA has in Savannah/Chatham county area to realize what tennis and an excellent tennis complex can bring to the community. BTW, the USTA voted SATA the community tennis association of the year out of hundreds of associations in the U.S.

There are a lot of very good tennis played in RH. We would make strong competition for Savannah / Chatham and surrounding areas. Very impressed with tennis community in RH.
