I coach Tennis at the High School. We were very disappointed when the recreation Dept. took away two courts at the rec. complex. We had been coducting JV matches there when we had six courts.

I moved to Richmond Hill eight years ago with the understanding tennis courts would be built at Henderson Park.

It came to my attention over a year ago that when SPLOST was voted on, the city/county representatives that wanted to get the program in place indicated to the community that if they voted for it to happen, they'd in-turn use some of the funds to help build a new tennis facility. What happened however was the opposite of that. The local government got their funds from SPLOST but did not uphold their part of the initial bargain to help develop tennis in the area. Instead, they used the funds to pad their own projects. Bad way to give back to the community and I hope that come next local election, the good people of Richmond Hill will think twice about electing these same people to position. Do the right thing and help RHATA develop their tennis program by providing them with the much-deserved facility YOU promised them if they went to bat for you and voted for SPLOST when you needed their help!
