Many babies all across the world are affected by drug abuse. Some babies born to drug abusers are addicted at birth, develop mental and/or physical disabilities, others are born too early or not even at all. All we want to do is help prevent this from happening to other babies. We need to take action to help stop this before another baby is harmed or even killed. This petition's purpose is to encourage prosecution for women who use illegal drugs during pregnancy and refuse treatment. We feel that this is child abuse and should be treated as such. Our petition will be mailed and e-mailed to Governors, Senators, and Legislation on July 4th 2009 - Independence Day.
