Join our petition to help us get Tornado Sirens put in Midway! Also, help us get sidewalks placed along EdgeWater Drive! Although Midway is a safe area with little damaging weather we must be prepared for the worst! Adding tornado sirens to the city would benifit us greatly. Seeing how Midway isn't very large one or two sirens should do the job depending on the range of the sirens. This would benefit the Midway area by warning people ahead of time before it's to late. For example, when the power goes out and you're asleep, you awake and hear the siren alerting your family to get into safety. Recently, my friend's house caught on fire, he had no idea there was a fire. Thankfully, for his fire alarms he was able to make it to safety. This could help prevent deaths and cause awareness. Also, I and others have noticed along Edgewater Drive there are no sidewalks! Students just walk on the side of the road or even on the road to get to there destination. Suppose a student is hit by a car; who do you think they would blame besides the driver or the child, they would blame the city for not putting in sidewalks!
