We need sidewalks on 175th Street near the high school. There aren't any connecting downtown to the Double Gate/St Johns Trace subdivisions and children have to walk in the street or the ditch. Walking past the ditch on 175th Street yesterday reminded me exactly why I started this fight because I still see kids dodging traffic just to get home from class. I am currently putting together a formal presentation for the city council that highlights the dangers we see every single day. They cannot keep ignoring the risks to our children when the danger is this obvious.

Seeing this kind of momentum feels like a weight lifting because it confirms that I am not the only one terrified for our kids walking along 175th. This support proves the city can no longer pretend the ditch is an acceptable path for anyone in our neighborhood.

Several kids form 7-17 walk this route to get something from the convenient store at the four way stop. I have always wondered about their safety and the easability to add a side walk in the right away.
This is something that should have happened years ago. It is a significant safety issue to not have sidewalks on a 45mph street.
Sidewalks would bring so much business to the downtown via foot traffic. I have a three year old and a seven year old and its too dangerous to walk or ride bikes downtown from our house on Pecan Street. These would pay for themselves over time.
You put the high school all the way out there. The sidewalks should have been there from the beginning!
From St. John's it's less then 2 miles so the bus company says the kids can walk but there is no safe way to get to the schools
such a sidewalk would allow our kids and grand children to ride their bikes SAFELY to our house
