Yes, something needs to be done quickly. Los Feliz was once a very safe place to live.

I live in Hollywood Grove and am also concerned about the rise in crime - home and car burglaries as well as shooting and people help up at gun point just walking around Gelsons and Franklin Village. What can we do to prevent this and help our local communiotes?

Have lived in the Los Feliz Hills for 30 years and have never witnessed the amount of crime as we have in the past year. Our cars in front of our home have been broken into. Nearby homes have been the target of robberies and burglaries. I haven’t seen any police cars around. This is just intolerable! Please assign more frequent police patrols. After all what is our police department for?

Hello,
In the 7 years that I've been living in Los Feliz, in the past year alone, it has become so scary to be out on the streets after dark, thanks to the amount of drug-addicted and violent people wandering the streets. Add in all the parked RV's which the homeless live in, it has added a very dangerous element to our once safe neighborhood.

Agreed. Bad enough that city gov has been unresponsive to traffic problems. But this is much more serious.

As a longtime resident of Los Feliz I am alarmed by the increase in crime and have been a victim of a home robbery ourselves - our community needs help to resolve this serious issue

I was robbed of 3 generations of jewelry, worth $160,000. That is NOT " petty property crime." Our area is obvoiusly being targeted as they've learned there is no response.

I second the person who suggested one way streets, parking permits, gated streets and holding the city accountable including an increase in police presence. For what we pay in taxes it is inappropriate for them to be ignoring us. In addition to all of the crime that has risen as of late, we also have issues of firetrucks getting stuck on our streets! All of this needs to end, safety over convenience everyday and any day.

We've been NOTB for 26 years. We used to be scared of coyotes. Ah, the good old days. My vintage vehicle was stolen a few weeks back, right in front of my house. Police came in a timely manner and a report was taken. The people on NextDoor were great. I received support and even got video surveillance footage and stills from neighbors. Called ASK-LAPD. Nowhere. Other friends put pictures of my truck on their Instragram feeds. Within 48 hours my vehicle was spotted in another jurisdiction. Now, what to do with all this information? ASK-LAPD again. No dice. A bunch of calls got me through to a dedicated auto-theft 'detective line'. No out-going message. Just a beep. Really? If the cops don't help us, who will? If I wanted to live a 'shoot, shovel and shut-up' neighborhood I'd take my tax dollars and move to San Bernardino. HELP US, LAPD!
