We moved here to raise our son BECAUSE it was a safe haven in which to live - yet near all the great things LA has to offer. We now have installed cameras everywhere and constantly are looking over our shoulders. In 2000 when we moved here our neighbors said "It's so safe up here - we don't even lock our doors" - sad to say that's no longer the case...

The crime has gotten out of control. We need to make serious changes including making some streets one way, limiting on street parking, gating some streets, getting the police to actually patrol, getting council members to actually DO THEIR JOBS and be diligent as neighbors to watch. But first and foremost, we need a police presence in our neighborhoods!

This serious matter and others, including the vast traffic problems around Griffith Park seem to coincide with the election of David Ryu. Perhaps more pressure needs to be applied to this public official.

It is common knowledge that over the last 3-4 years most crime and homelessness has increased in the city of Los Angeles. In Los Feliz theft, violent crimes and aggressive burglaries have made a strong resurgence. For those of us who have chosen to make Los Feliz our home because of its’ vibrant community and relative safety, it is important that these issues be continually addressed by our city government, the LAPD and the homeless and mental help services our tax dollars help pay for. I sign this with the hope that it keeps our current representatives focused on the concerns facing their constituents.

Los Feliz deserves better protection. The local news broadcast a video of a kid swiping an iPhone from an Apple store last week asking for help to solve the crime. Our homes and cars are being targeted, broken into, vandelized and burglarized. We need protection and help to solves these crimes.

Burglaries have increased. The police do very little, citing too many cases to handle.
My house was burglarized. I lost a fortune. There were definite leads that were very very slowly considered; and not energetically and/ or even addressed or followed. My experience was treated as a mere statistic. No solutions have been sought or addressed by our law enforcement authorities.

My home was broken into a ransacked and both my husband and I had our cars broken into on our driveway as well. Note our driveway way is up a steep hill off the street . Extremely difficult to get to. As is our home.
