Don Christopher’s FLEUR D’EAU was one of the oldest homes in Austin, and on Lake Memphremagog. Built in 1884 it was truly a historical monument in the community of the lake, and town alike.
On March 19,2014 this gem was ravished by fire, completely destroying not only the building – but piece of Lake Memphremagog’s history. With your help this petition will enable Mr. Christopher to rebuild this iconic home, and write a new chapter in the story of Lake Memphremagog.

I have been hearing so many stories from people who remember the home before the fire and it really puts into perspective how much this building meant to everyone. It is humbling to see how much people care about preserving our local history and I am just happy to be able to help focus that energy toward a rebuild.

My family has been on the lake for 40 years and that house was a landmark. Let them rebuild it!
c'est une honte que la ville bloque tout. ce chalet faisait partie du paysage depuis toujours.
so sad to see it gone. please let him fix it back up the way it was.
Vraiment triste ce qui est arrivé. Il faut absolument aider Don à reconstruire ce monument.
Austin needs its history back. Stop the red tape and let the man work.
Its ridiculous that Don cannot rebuild such a gem.

Ce Boat House a été bâti par mon arrière Grand Père Gauvin. Ce patrimoine bâti doit être reconstruit. J'ai toutes les photos en noir et blanc de l'époque. Aujourd'hui il ya moyen de rebâtir tout en protègeant le lac. La célèbre émission This Old House a prouvéé qu'il était possible de reconstruire en étant environnemental. Ce serait un exemple pour tous les riverains.
