The small town of Santa Fe, TX has plenty of outdoor activities to offer the residents. From Basketball, Baseball, Football, Disc Golf, Running, Horseback’s Riding, Playgrounds etc. As someone who has lived in Santa Fe since 1990 and started taking up Skateboarding at the age of 11, I have always felt that the town has lacked in providing a safe spot for kids that enjoy activities such as Skateboarding/Rollerblading/Scootering. With both parents working when I was younger, my friends and I would have to find spots around the town to skate but always ran into obstacles from local business owners, schools and parents that we couldn’t skate there. The nearest skate park at that time was all the way in Pasadena at SouthSide Skate Park which was tough to get a ride when both parents worked full time.

Fast forward forward now and surrounding cities such as League City, Alvin and even Texas City have Skate Parks to offer to their local residents.
This provides a safe local location for parents to drop their kid’s off to enjoy the activity of skateboarding on weekends or long summer breaks.

With the town of Santa Fe growing and numerous families flocking to the town a strategically placed Skate Park can welcome others that come from areas that had provided their city a Skate Park for the youth to make them feel more welcome and at home.
The Skate Park makes it the perfect place for like minded youths or those interested in the sport to gather and learn/teach and make lifetime friends.

The process to get a Skate Park built for a city is a lengthy process but it starts right here with getting local parents, business owners and youth talking about it and coming together to present this to the City. So I ask you as a fellow Skater to please take the time to sign this petition and give us a better chance n getting the City on board with us.
