We the residents of Princeville that live near Ka Haku Road, petition the Princeville at Hanalei Community Association to install abrupt speed bumps every 1,000 feet from the start of the residents to the beach access near the St. Regis on Ka Haku Road.
Presently, vehicles are traveling at speeds in excess of 40 mph. The flow of traffic creates noisepollution as well as a hazard to vehicles entering Ka Haku Road from thetributary streets. In addition, pedestrians (adults, small children, those in wheelchairs and families with strollers) are at risk due to the speeding which is unmonitored by the Kauai Police Department.
We demand that the Community Association take action at the next meeting.

We live on Ka Haku Road and we see cars all the time speeding over 50 mph between speed bumps.
I don't think any new or heightened speed bumps are necessary in Princeville anywhere! They are ridiculous to drive with, bad for our vehicles and a waste of time and money! If it is such a big issue, then talk to the Kauai Police Department and have them deal with speeders! I understand some peoples concerns, as they live along the road, but it was their choice to purchase along the road and the road was there and isn't any different than it was!
