I believe this would be putting the children and parents at risk if the lollipop man is removed as there is to many stupid drivers around that would not stop to let children cross the road or even slow down in case a child stepped out on to the road

I think this devision is ridiculous! I will be uneasy about letting my son walk to school on his own now, even when in year 5/6. I would feel better about him crossing the Ferrers road on hs own, where Brian is meant to be going, there is an island in the middle of the road and the visibility is so much better. Crossing Hullbridge Road without a lollipop man is dangerous enough for grown ups at school times, let alone children on their own.

This is a busy road with a lot of parked cars and on a bus route. Brian is a fantastic worker loved by parents and children alike and really looks after them. How does this position not meet the criteria. It can only be because Essex CC has raised the bar. The traffic has not reduced and neither has the speed at which people drive especially if they are in a hurry to catch a train etc. I support the children of this town and their safety. Keep Brian in post.

School safety should not be part of County Council cost cutting. Period. God forbid anything happens to one of the kids if you go through with this!

After a near fatal accident last year when the lollipop man was absent you are crazy to decide you no longer need one of their services!
Save Brian
