I love hackney wick as it is, I would have left London long ago if it was not here.

Hackney Wick is the factories, Hackney wick is the roads that lead to the river. Hackney Wick is perfect just the way it is.

Dear Anthony Hollingsworth, I am writing in support of the proposed extension of The Hackney Wick and Fish Island Conservation Area. This area is of great historic interest. And it is a home to creativity that is alive and evolving. Please don't ruin that by conforming to huge greedy suits that just want to profit from the land space. You would be killing the soul of London. Yours faithfully,

To people who say they find London soulless or oppressive, I say: go to Hackney Wick, it will change your mind. Don't lose it!

This is an important moment for the legacy of the lower lea valley as a whole, this extension of the existing conservation areas, will help bring about more sensitive development which allows opportunities for those who now love, and will love being part of 'the wick'
