Hackney Wick is a vital hub of creativity close to central London. The arts will just get pushed further out of the city.

They talk about regeneration but have you seen the area, the artistic output around the area should be able to flourish

We have been running a creative and busy little studio here since 2005, we've seen many changes, the most deliterious connected to unsympathetic and poorly considered development. Industry, tenants and landlords will all benefit from intelligent, resourceful and appropriate engagement with the unique and special grain that characterises this place that gives us all so much.

I've been an artist at Mother studios for over 8 years and I don't want to move out. Hackney wich should be kept as it is, the largest artist hub in Europe.

This unique part of London is a generator of great things, but they need a space like this to start in. Keeping this place open to young talent is an investment in London's future in many ways. Developing it prices them out of the space, and removes their effectiveness. Its that simple.

I highly support LLDC's decision to extend the boundary to the conservation area to protect the unique characteristics of the area including it architectural and community values.

Dear Anthony Hollingsworth, I am writing in support of the proposed extension of The Hackney Wick and Fish Island Conservation Area. This area is of great historic interest.

I think a city needs different spaces, not just new buildings. and HW is a vibrant area of artists who are as necessary as financial professionals of the city or tech companies of shoreditch. so they need equal support for their needs.

Hackney Wick is the last bastion of the Spirit of Hackney. The Spirit of Hackney is an endangered species and must be protected. When it is gone it is gone, and no amount of DNA replication will bring it back. The Spirit of Hackney has tried to survive through the many changes of its habitat in recent times. Now it would seem that it is too weak to fight to protect its home. All of its natural surroundings have been felled or burned; it has been pushed into a corner with no where else to go. Its fundamental right to exist has been denied. In our age of the "organic lifestyle", what are our actions saying? What do we really mean? What is our true aim? Diversity is strength and Hackney has a Legacy of Diversity, so why not walk the talk? It's not that difficult. The Spirit of Hackney is the soul of East London. You can always revive the flesh but never the soul. We must protect our soul for without it there is no life, no true life only empty eyes.

protect what is truly valuable but this area and generations to come will reap the rewards - financial, social, psychological, artistic.

Please let Hackney Wick thrive unspoiled by private interest who wish to profit, not create.

Dear whom it may concern, Like the financial district, an artists district in Hackney Wick exists as another source of the cutting edge industries, that London offers the world. This is something that should concern everyone, not just artists because we need as many creative industries here to compete with the rest of Europe and the US. Without this, London becomes a soulless city with high rise flats everywhere.
