Butch a 9 year old Staffordshire bull terrier is due to be put to sleep for feeding off his owners dead body. Butch would have been starving and gone into survival mode due to not being fed and being all alone by himself. The smell of the dead body, Butch just did what any other animal would have done in that situation but is being punished for it. I truly think Butch deserves another chance.
In the news it mentions Butch nipping at a police officer this is due to being handled and pinned down when they had literally just found him alone in the house he shared with his companion in a terrible state.
Please, please sign and share this petition and Save Butch. The law on animals needs to change!

The sheer weight of this support proves that people refuse to let Butch be executed for a survival instinct he could never control. The authorities think they can just put him down in the dark and hope we stay quiet but they are dead wrong. We are forcing them to look at what they are doing to an innocent dog.

Poor dog would have been terrified with the Police Handler grabbing him, he had just lost his owner and would not have known what was happening. Show some compassion!!!! Staffies are the most loving and loyal dogs you can get. Ignorant people just don't give them a chance.
I have a staffie since he was 13 weeks old and hes now 11 years old and there very loyal dogs it's the wrong hands these dogs get in to that gives them a bad names and it's only the dogs that has to suffer and a do think it's wrong
Butch behaved in exactly the way a dog would having been left on its own with any dead body. It was unfortunate to be his owner but Butch would not have known. Any dog having been left in that situation would have beh aged by nipping a stranger. Butch should not be punished for finding himself in a situation he had no control over.
Butch is a lovely well behaved wee dog. Please carry out Butch's owners last wishes, let gorgeous wee Butch live out the rest of his life in a loving home like the one he had.
Re-assess the poor boy out of the stressful situation. He would have been stressed about his owner dying/no food and then intruders trying to pick him up??? I would act in a concerning way too. It's unfair to sentence him based on those ignorant facts.

Once again stupid authorities think they know best. Someone should tell them they don't. Laws for animals should be changed. When survivors ate fellow passengers after a plane crash, I don't remember anyone questions that.Syrvival is just that whether for a human or animal.
