Hello. My name is Sarah Grosz and I am a rising Sophomore at Syracuse University, majoring in information management and technology.
Last semester, one of my TAs misplaced two of my assignments, resulting in me receiving a full letter grade lower than I deserve, therefore heavily impacting my overall GPA. After multiple emails, the TA was extremely unhelpful and deemed it was my fault for not catching this earlier.
Here is some background about the class:
Course title: GEO 100
Professor: Mark Monmonier/Jane Read
TA: Jesse Quinn
* This was the first time this class has been run.
* Other assignments have been misplaced and marked off for other students in this class.
* No grade was ever posted online for the entire duration of the course.
* Assignments were handed back in clusters, months after submission.

One hundred people now know exactly how Jesse Quinn and this department botched our grades. This negligence is unacceptable and the administration is finally seeing that we are not going to be quiet about it.

If we expect students to take responsibility for their work, instructors need to take responsibility for work submitted by those students. By penalizing Sarah, you are setting a poor example.
Best of luck! Someone else's mistake should not result in your grade being lowered; it's highly immoral and unethical to punish you for the TA's mistake.
If the TA or professor messes up, it's their job to catch it, not the student's. Fix her grade please. I also suggest you contact channel nine news, 'Your Stories', and ask them to do a segment on this. I bet it happens more than we realize. www.9wsyr.com
I am an iSchool student also, and would know how your pain feels if that happened to me. Hopefully this gets turned over
I've known Sarah for a long time and she deserves a good grade in this class. She should not be penalized for a teacher's lack of proficiency. It is Syracuse's duty to rectify this issue immediately.
Responsible and homest young lady, working diligently to succeed in a world where unfortunately grades matter, should not have a dishonest transcript of her abilities due to negligence of school staff. Changethegrade.org
