I am an amateur astronomer and I spend at least a third of the year in Hidalgo Co. NM. I come for the dark skies. If not for that I would not come.

One of the best things about NM is the outdoors and that includes dark skies... please don't turn NM into the east coast !!!!

I am an amateur astrophotographer who is planning on moving to New Mexico in the not-too-distant future to escape the light pollution of my current residence. These billboards will help repel people like me.

One of the pleasures in driving NM roads are the dark skies. There is no greater pleasure than stepping outside your car to actually see the Milky Way in a moonless night.

This is important for many issues, and our clear night skies are one. But also, it is a safety hazard on roads for drivers, especially tired drivers.

It makes no sense from a business standpoint to take the enchantment out of the Land of Enchantment.

Billboards are an urban planner's nightmare, they do nothing for the land except occupy space and pollute it.

Electronic billboards are against the intent of the night sky protection act. Uphold this act and reverse the decision on the billboards.

I lived in Santa Fe previously and stronly support preserving New Mexico's night skies. Public health and welfare is at stake here. Policy makers must respond. Do NOT permit digital, internally lit billboards or other road signage.

These things are disracting and hazardous to driving and screw up our dark skies to make it worse not to mention the illegality of these things

This will not only destroy dark skies, but I believe it to be a safety hazard.

I urge you to rescind this unfortunate ruling.

Once again, the needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many. Please rescind this ruling and keep our night skies beautiful.

Why destroy New Mexico dark skies, a New Mexico resource that can't be replaced and is a valuable tourist and commercial attraction.
