The town finally reversed their decision and John gets to stay in his home. I am drained from this fight but the outcome is exactly what we needed. We will keep watching to make sure the town honors this commitment to him.

John Scagliarini has been living on and taking care of Long Beach for the last 25 years. He has done countless plantings at his own cost to help better our loved beach. Don't let John get kicked out! John is the only full time resident to live on Plymouth beach year round; this is his only home and not a summer house.

The town of Plymouth is refusing to renew his lease on his house and give no compensation on the home that he purchased 25 years ago. Many of you know this house.

In this political climate we should be stretching out our arms to help those around us as the world tries to turn inward to care for it's own. What message would it send to leave this man out in the cold over proposed additional 6 car beach parking.

While he admittedly was behind in taxes during the recession, he is current and ahead and also paid any and all penalties and interest that he had incurred during that difficult time. He has been current since November 2014.

Join me in signing this petition to show the town how much we care about John and let them know that we don't want a neighbor, a friend, a guardian of our beach that we love so, to be left homeless.

The town officials are starting to take notice as we climb toward our goal but the pressure needs to stay high if we want to save John's home. Please take a moment now to send this link to your contacts so we can cross that threshold while they are actually watching.

The path forward is exhausting but we are nearing our first major milestone of signatures. Please get this in front of others because the town needs to see that we will not let John be abandoned.

The town selectmen really need to check their priorities on this one. I would think that the public outcry at ousting John would put their re-election hopes in jeopardy. I certainly will not vote for anyone who would de-home someone who has given so much to our community.

No greater stewart or advocate can there be for Plymouth Long Beach than John Scagliarini . Allowing John to continue living in his home ... by renewing his lease... is the most profound act of " Conservation", common sense and morality. SUPPORT SCAG

It makes absolutely no sense to evict John Scagliarini on the grounds that the town needs more parking space for the beach. The town will lose money on this decision. Who will be paying for parking during the winter months!!! Please, let John stay!!!

Given the red carpet the Powers that Be in Plymouth roll out for developers and other business interests, the least they could do would be to treat Scag -- a de facto steward of common and critical resources -- with fairness and compassion.

If the town were to tear down every home that its owners were at one time delinquent in taxes and replace it with a parking lot, there would be an awful lot of pavement in Plymouth... Please consider extending John Scag's lease.

John is a quiet force of nature, just like the beautiful area he inhabits. With him there it remains a natural retreat...with a 6 car parking lot it becomes a place to party and cover with trash. As the Beatles said so eloquently: "Let it Be" Thank you, Roy Dawes
