Help Bees in Leicester

We, the undersigned, petition Leicester City Council to change current planting policy to one which includes flowers that attract bees and other pollinating insects. In doing this Leicester will be contributing to halting the current decline in the UK’s bee population.
Leicester Friends of the Earth would like the City Council to change planting regimes to more bee friendly ones, similar to those already being carried out by councils in Birmingham, Brighton and Sheffield. We also call on the Council to look at creating wildflower areas “mini-meadows” on housing estates, and to undertake planting in parks and other public spaces and on main road central reservations.
Please only sign this petition if you live, work or study in Leicester. Fill in your Leicester address - so if you live in the County but work in Leicester, use the address of your workplace.
