The following people pray that you will look into some type of prison reform that will have an effect on the unbearable temperatures in Texas prisons. There have been heat related deaths in Texas prisons. Not only are inmates falling out from the heat but guards as well. Inmates requiring medical attention for serious medical issues are denied a/c housing as it is reserved for spinal cord injuries. I would question why there are so many spinal cord injuries in Texas prisons. People incarcerated have made mistakes and are paying the price for them. Rehabilitation is difficult enough without dealing with such unbearable temperatures. Everyone that has signed this petition requests that you look into the situation and see what can be done. If not air conditioning then perhaps water cooling fans or something similar that would be turned on at all times.
