Dear Sony, We are a community of proud owners of your latest, revolutionary, consumer 3D camcorder, the HDR-TD10. We edit the footage in Sony Vegas Pro 10.0e with its’ built in native support of stereoscopic of your AVCHD, MVC encoded, files. We know that you are releasing the HXR-NX3D1, but for us, who have already invested £1200, it will mean to take a depreciation loss on the HDR-TD10 when selling it, to then buy the same camcorder with upgraded software ,XLR microphone and a ND filter for well over 3 times the price. We all wish we could have more manual control over the camcorder – iris, shutter, white balance, gain and audio levels - just to name a few of the crucial ones. When it comes to interlaced recording format, we all know it’s a thing of the past, as is the point of de-interlacing 50i to 25p ( or 60i to 30p in US ) and then interpolating to the only possible output for 3D Blu-ray from Vegas Pro 10 ( and in general), which is 23.976p. Finally, when recording, we would rather view the overlaid two views on the LCD screen to more accurately control the parallax, than having auto-stereoscopic mode as the only way to see 3D. Our suggestion is for you to release a paid software upgrade for us HDR-TD10 users to allow us to have the software from HXR-NX3D1. It’s a similar case to how you released paid S-Log upgrade for the F3 model. Assuming the same percentage pattern of additional third of the original price, we would be willing to pay another £400 for this upgrade, making our “Sony 3D products workflow” investment to date, a rather substantial sum. Hope you will appreciate that we have already chosen your products and you will continue to support us with our passion for making 3D movies providing the much needed software upgrade. Kind regards Michal Tomas iWATCH3D On behalf of all Sony HDR-TD10 owners
