Final supporters
We are petitioning for Mandatory Grandfathering of ALLSiblings into the schools that their Older Siblings are currently enrolled at.
Dual Language is slated to continue to grandfather all current and incoming siblings together and we want to be offered that same right.
We are calling for consistent application of district policy to allow our children to attend school together in the same buildings!!
We understand the importance of keeping neighborhoods together, but it is far more important to keep families together.
You cannot keep neighborhoods together by dividing the families that reside in those very neighborhoods.
THERE IS NO REASON WHY OUR CHILDREN SHOULD BE PREVENTED FROM OR DENIED THE EXPERIENCE OF ATTENDING GRADE SCHOOL WITH THEIR SIBLINGS!!
FOR ANY OF YOU WHO HAD SIBLINGS IN K-5 WHILE YOU ATTENDED, WHETHER OLDER OR YOUNGER, THINK ABOUT HOW DIFFERENT YOUR SCHOOL EXPERIENCE WOULD HAVE BEEN HAD THEY BEEN SENT TO ANOTHER SCHOOL.
FAMILIES SHOULD NOT BE SPLIT UP UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!
ONCE AGAIN……THERE IS NO REASON WHY OUR CHILDREN SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE SAME SCHOOL AS THEIR SIBLINGS WHO ARE CURRENTLY ENROLLED.

The administration continues to dodge our requests for a clear explanation of why sibling policies remain inconsistent across our schools. Please call the district office today and demand that they grant the same grandfathering rights to all families that they currently allow for Dual Language.

We hit our first big milestone today and the momentum shows the district that splitting up our families is unacceptable. Call your school board representatives today to demand they align policy with our needs. Post this link to your neighborhood Facebook groups to ensure every parent understands what is at stake.

My kids need to be at the same school. Logistics for working parents are already hard enough without driving to two different locations every morning.
EXACTLY. It makes no sense to split families up. Do the right thing D73!!!
How are we supposed to make school events when the kids are across town from each other? Fix this now.
Ridiculous that we even have to ask for this. Keep siblings together, period.
So unfair to the younger kids who get left behind at another school. Families first.
