I hadn't heard about any negative reviews on this product until it was too late.
My cat had the flea collar on for a total for 2 days and it gave her a terrible chemical burn. Yes, you read that right, ONLY 2 DAYS. She is burned to the point that all her hair around that area is gone and her skin is red, raw, and oozing fluid.
After this happened my husband did some research on this company's products and found some really disturbing reports. This product has been known to cause burns, illness, and even death. Yes, this company has had lawsuits against them for their products KILLING cats!
It is beyond my comprehension why this company's products have no been banned! These reports go back years and they are still on the shelves at stores!
When my husband contacted the company they didn't much care at all. He told them he found these reports and even a vet tech friend of ours says vets warn against this product because they have had pets die from using this product. They claim the animals could have died for many reasons. Hartz has been getting these reports for YEARS and denying every bit of it!!
Please sign this petition to make a difference. Whether that is simply to raise awareness or get them out of business for good, something needs to be done to help these animals!

We used Harts flea collar on our cat a few years ago and he got terribly sick. Rapid breathing, seizures, and disorientation.... Had no idea it was the collar till we took him to the vet. Luckily we caught it in time.... But Harts very well could have killed him. This company should be shut down.
Hartz flea collars and other flea products were known to have problems as far back as I can remember; back into the 70s if I remember correctly. I’ve always wondered why they haven't been forced off the market or sued into oblivion for this.
A Hartz flea collar nearly killed one of my cats when it ate through her fur and down to her skin. Got her to the vet ASAP and that vet said, do not use Hartz!
My two cats went into liver failure after using the topical flea treatment. I contacted the company & was told to "prove it." I see they haven't improved in the years since.
I work for a low cost spay/neuter clinic. We tell every client to only use vet approved flea products and to stay away from Hartz products. Our vets say they have a powerful lobby that keeps them on the shelves.
Stop the sell of these horrible products, save the animals!!
I’ve known since the 80s the horrible quality of their products. I don’t buy Hartz ANYTHING.

my cat had seizures and foaming at the mouth .... $2000 later at the vets got to bring him home with permanent damage .... he only lasted a few months after that and we had to have him put down as his systems were failing. i no longer trust these flea drops on the back of their necks.
