The Forestry Commission has confirmed the project for the bridge replacement is now officially approved and fully funded. We are currently finalizing the construction timeline with their engineering team to ensure the installation remains a priority. Thank you for maintaining the pressure that secured this outcome.

The Harold Wood Councillors together with the Friends of Harold Wood Parks are launching this petition to request the Forestry Commission to replace the Bridge in Harold Wood Park that provides the vital access to Pages Wood as we have been advised that it is now beyond repair

The Forestry commission , who are responsible for the bridge, have said that the cost to replace this is quite high and subsequently are reluctant to replace it, as an urgent project.

It is vital that we highlight to the Forestry commission and our local MP’s the importance of this bridge, which provides essential access to all our visitors of our green spaces. Without this bridge Pages Wood accessibility becomes problematic and in some cases impossible for our disabled, blind, elderly, lone walkers / runners and families with young children.

We need the community to show their support for the replacement of this bridge by signing this petition. This green space, being accessible to all, is essential for the physical / mental well being of our community.

Please share to your friends and families - the more support we receive the more likelihood the Forestry Commission will consider this essential bridge as a viable and critical project.

Your support is appreciated

We are approaching the one hundred signature mark which serves as the threshold for our upcoming briefing with Forestry Commission officials. Securing these final signatures now provides the necessary leverage to demand a formal commitment to the bridge replacement project.

No matter how expensive it doesnt compare to the cost of taking away the freedom for some or many people to be able to access this country park which after all was built to be visited by the community and beyond to improve their well being was it not?

This is a huge lifeline for some people I walk so much with my dogs and baby and I used this bridge every day to visit my parents in hall Lane a much safer route for us than going via the pathway on shepherds hill and hall Lane - we’ve all missed out!

Now winter is upon us it's really important to get the bridge functioning . My husband and I are both over 70 and we enjoy walking but the diversion route is extremely dangerous especially when it's wet . Please can urgent action be taken to repair the bridge .

We need a replacement bridge is it is extremely difficult to get into Pages Wood from the park due to the very muddy path. People with bikes, push chairs or less able would find it too slippery. The alternative route is only usable in dry weather.

Me and my daughter who is a new mum used to walk our dogs every day using the bridge but are now unable to as the alternative access is not accessible for a pram so now have to drive to another park which is such a shame as having this on our door step and not able to use

This is the most used bridge in the park. To access the paths now you have to cross the next bride, walk on grass and climb over the fence. What about pushchair and disabled access? They now cannot enjoy a walk into pages woods from Harold wood park
