Hardship Registration for the Arabian Horse Association

My membership has expired because I don't show anymore and I have one horse still registered in my name and she is 34 years old. This would be great for AHA and all the people out there with part and purebred arabs that have no papers that would love to register their horse.

Always wondered why this wasn't already a thing. This would be great for rescues and the showing community. Love the idea!

Would love to see this implemented.

Sounds like a fabulous way to safeguard the breed

This absolutely needs to happen! So many horses that are rescued could be given an 2nd chance. Especially since many of these horses are dumped by irresponsible owners who REFUSE to send the papers with the horse. One man's trash is another man's treasure. These horses need to be given every possible opportunity and they are ENTITLED to their papers! Better yet, let's make it ILLEGAL to transfer ownership of a registered Arabian without also transferring the papers.

This would be a great idea. I know a lot of people who would do this!

Rescued horses that are vet approved to be half Arab or purebreds deserve some type of recognition. We can't show them at breed show s with out registration papers. The show scene is failing. We are discriminated against at all breed or open shows. Give these reduced horses a second chance. They will benefit and so will the association.

I always had registered arabians but now the need to rescue arabians from the killers is great geldings and spaded mares should be able to compete at shows with DNA test makes for larger classes too.

This would be SO MUCH HELP for people who have horses that aren't registered over a personal issue or a death that prevented something from being signed

I assume the fee would also be less for the older horses.

my mare came to me with no name and you bet your socks she is pure arabian. i would like to show her in NON open shows and they are flooded with stock horses and judges dont place her (but they placed my slightly underweight at the time, no butt, uphill tb looking paint gelding who tried to REAR in the halter ring...).she knows how to stand up for halter and is a beautiful mare (who breeders tell me to breed for a half arabian).

I don't agree with requiring the mares to be spayed.

This would be so beneficial to those of us who rescue Arabians. Especially when we know who the horse is because they were registered in the past, but we have no way to obtain papers.

Why require mares to be spayed, ots very invasive. Why not just an acknowledgement or affidavit mare will not be bred?

I really believe this would help with the breed in many ways. Encourage good stewardship of Arabians who've lost papers, help rescues place horses to good homes, just to name a couple.

I am fostering a beautiful well-bred mare who was slaughter bound and breeder has not been cooperative. This would give this mare a better outcome in life.
