Open the AMHA Studbook to Hardship AMHR Horses

Submitted Rule Change: Beginning January 1, 2014, all AMHA registered horses must meet one of the following requirements: 1. Both parents must be registered with AMHA 2. The horse must be registered with AMHR. Only animals holding current permanent AMHR registration papers can be hardshipped into AMHA. A copy of the AMHR permanent registration papers showing the horse to be 34 inches or under must accompany the hardship registration.

The AMHA board can no longer pretend this demand for a hardship provision is just a minor nuisance. We have officially built enough momentum to force them into a corner and they must address this outdated, exclusionary policy immediately.

I am in favor of allowing permanently registered AMHR horses 34" and under to be hardshipped into AMHA
Very good idea since AMHR allows AMHA horses to hardship into their registry. Look at the income vitreous produce.
This proposal is instrumental in continuing the betterment of the gene pool. Attracting members from both registries. Change usually comes in small doses hopefully this will come in time.
If AMHA were to open up to AMHR horses I would consider coming back to AMHA. Now with the addition of the stock halter class ideas like this keeps me interested in participating, but my stock horses are not AMHA registered.
AMHA can be hardshipped into AMHR, so AMHR should be hardshippable into AMHA. It's all about making the American Miniature Horse breed better in the end!

Many of these horses are elig., but can't get into registry bc the original owner did not fill out paper work. If they fit the breed and height then thee should be a way to hardship especially with DNA testing.
