We are applying to Extreme Home Makeover for assistance with a fully handicapped accessible park/playground. The estimated cost of this is $500,000. We live in a community that has been hit very hard by the loss of thousands of jobs due to DHL closing. Raising money in a community with this much unemployment is very difficult. The current parks do not provide adapted play equipment, ground surfacing or accessibility for children and adults with disabilities.
