Watching this momentum grow gives me real hope that my children might finally have a safe route to school. I remember being stuck at those crossing gates for what felt like hours with my parents and seeing this much support confirms that I am not the only one tired of the gridlock.

The traffic is horrible due to the train activity. It blocks emergency vehicles as well as auto traffic. Heaven forbid that something should happen at Sequoyah Nuclear plant. One of the major evacuation routes would be blocked and nobody moving waiting for two SLOW trains. So frustrating.
Train delays on Hamill Road cause traffic to back up onto 153 which causes a danger to citizens of both Hamilton County and Chattanooga City. The train crossing is blocked frequently causing unnecessary delays to everyone in our area.
My mother suffered a stroke. I could not get her to Northpark Hospital because of a train blocking the way. We need access to emergency services round the clock. There is no other reasonable means other than across the railroad track, which has often been blocked by dual track trains. Please help us.
RiverChase subdivision - Hamill road is one of three main exits from my subdivision, If this solution is not accepted, the train companies need to limit the time trains are blocking the Hamill Road to no more than 5 to 8 minutes. Posted at the crossing a phone number to report violations to the controlling authoriy.
This railroad crossing is less than a quarter mile from Memorial Hospital in Hixson, is the only direct route from Big Ridge, and is frequently blocked anywhere from several minutes to hours and this is NOT an exaggeration. The time it takes to find an alternate route around the tracks could very well be the difference between life and death!
Hi everybody. I'm working on a story about Hamill Road and trains blocking the crossing. Is there anyone who has signed this petition who has been involved in a medical emergency and had to find another way to CHI Memorial because a train was stopped on the tracks? This has been needed and wanted for years. Please consider for the safety of the community as well as delays it daily creates.

I am so happy to see others doing something towards our problem on Hamill Rd. I had to turn around 4 times in one day due to a train stopped on the tracks crossing Hamill Rd. I was excited to move onto Gann Store Rd Because of the convenience of everything. Can’t say that now.
