I pledge to switch to online shopping and home delivery and never set foot inside a supermarket again, saving time, money, fuel costs and carbon miles.
I pledge to use the time and money saved to buy fresh produce locally and help sustain my community.
I pledge to regain control of how I choose to shop, not how some supermarket forces me to.
Logically, the biggest supermarket chains would be persuaded to move away from large-format edge-of-town shopping barns and concentrate on town centre Express-sized stores, which could arguably help regenerate high street by increasing footfall for other traders to share.
Too few people in power have realised how seriously our regions, especially rural, are being decapitalised. This is our best - perhaps our only - chance of finding a win-win solution. Please promote it passionately.

Sick of watching the high street die while those massive sheds just keep popping up everywhere. My local greengrocer is already struggling enough as it is.

YES. tired of driving 20 mins just to walk around a giant warehouse. keep it small and keep the money in town.
