Besides how beautiful I'm sure the views are, there's so much history to be shared and educated to visitors. My husband is in the Coast Guard, and I had looked forward to experiencing this hike with him. Look like I won't be able to come this spring.

Re-open the Haiku stairs please. It is one of the coolest hikes on the island and why a lot of people come to oahu. And I haven't done it yet!!

Please open before December 2014 and we will come to Waikiki this year. We are good shoppers and diners and will be even more hungry after coming down from Haiku Stairs. Opening the stairs will be good for tourism and local business. Cheers.

Please open the Haiku Stairs. I believe they can be managed effectively to benefit hikers and residents in the neighborhood alike. We need to instill respect and appreciation for Oahu's cultural and natural resources, not to blockade them and tear them down. Please do the right thing and promote a welcoming culture of respect for nature and healthy exercise by opening this trail, educating hikers on ways to kokua, and helping to keep it clean and safe for all!

I support the reopening and ongoing maintenance of the Haiku Stairs. As more of Hawaii is being paved over, there are very few places that exist anymore where a family can get a great workout and enjoy the beauty of the windward side. We must provide healthy activities for locals and visitors alike.
