My attempt is to create awareness among local residents about the green spaces available around us. In space stricken city like Mumbai which is among the most congested in the world, we hardly have open spaces. Then should we not preserve, conserve and cherish what we have instead of allowing them to degenerate. I have not seen all or most of the parks in Mumbai, but this one I can say is in one of the bad conditions. The play area in the park looks really sad. Almost all the play equipments are weathering away. The swings are not there only the frame stands. Rumbles on the slides for the toddlers are missing. So they would climb all the way and find out that there’s no where to go. But here they can practice getting down the ladder facing their backs. Slides made out of fiberboard are broken and have holes at the end. Inspite of this, few enthusiastic kids would slide down and maneuver themselves towards the end so that their bums don’t get stuck. What a stunt! On one of the slides I observed that children were climbing from the other end. Yes meaning climbing up on the slide all the way up then slide again. I wondered why? So I thought of showing these kids a little demonstration with my daughter on it. When I went behind, I stood there wondering what was wrong. Oh the ladder! its missing. It had rusted with no evidence of its existence. I saw a corroded iron rod jutting out from the ground which will keep you guessing. There is a gazebo towards the other end which had seats and had open space with interlocked tiled flooring. Garbage was collected just at the entrance of this place and was stinking. This is petition intends to gather as much support from the local/city residents. Along with a few residents I plan to submit this to the corporator Ms. Rajshi Shrivadkar from F North ward. We'll urge her to take suitable action for clean up and installing better and child friendly play equipments. Thank you, Rajitha Gopinath

Its so sad to see the state of the park. My kids used to play here all the time but now its just dangerous with all the rusted metal and broken slides. Hope the authorities fix this soon.
