As Dr. Stedmen so nicely articulated, our children WILL be represented by numbers when they move out of PAUSD, whether we like it or not. We owe it to them to do the best job we can in making those numbers reflect the efforts and challenges these students have undertaken.

Those who work harder than others should be rewarded accordingly. Not reporting wGPA will send the WRONG message to our kids.

I'm happy with having WGPA reported. Further, it's dirty pool to tell kids to challenge themselves with the reward of WGPA points reported by their counselor on the common app, then to retroactively have that stripped away. That gives kids a sense of unfairness and a lack of control of their environment and destiny ... reasons that I hear from my kids on why they hate the school board/administration. If you are going to change the rules, then it applies to future classes, not retroactively ...

Competition is a fact of life. Some kids are smarter than others. Some work harder than others. Every kid deserves the grade he/she earned.
