PAUSD needs to keep in mind that PA students, when applying for colleges, are competing against thousands like them coming from schools nationwide which many have w-GPA. Removing it will put ALL PA students at a disadvantage...which creates more stress for them. Reducing stress is not about removing things that students strive for. It is about creating a balanced environment where they can work hard and play hard. w-GPA should be a choice; those who do not care about w-GPA usually are not taking many AP classes already; those who care about w-GPA are taking AP classes because they find them to be necessary to have the right college choices. Peel back the layers before making any decisions for other people...especially for the younger generations who often think adults do not listen to them or even understand.

It should be a choice. The weighted GPA motivates students to take advanced classes which most universities value the student efforts.

Colleges will calculate wGPA even Gunn removes it. It is useless to try something within PAUSD.

Please keep the weighted GPA reported to reward and encourage our students for their hard working and effort and desire to take challenges. The last thing we want to see our kids is to do minimum work to just get it passed.

Kids who chose to take the AP classes to challenge themselves should get the weighted GPA as a reward for taking the challenge and staying interested in school. The under represented minority's groups have been getting different evaluation in college admission practices - isn'5 that true? I am sure that there are under-represented students who also love the AP classes because the needs to learn do not care about ethnicity or special groups.

Students' extra efforts shall be recognized by wGPA, just like that athletes ' efforts are recognized by medals and rankings. There is no apparent data showing the wGPA has relation with students' preassures. Most of national high schools provide both uGPA and wGPA. Competition exists beyond our school district. We cannot let our kids lose oopportunities to get admitted to their desired colleges, or lose schoolarship opportunities due to this reason.
