We believe the development of Germantown Town Hall as a regional center for these important public services will spur other economic development in the neighborhood thus raising the quality of life for the people of Northwest Philadelphia.
A partial list of Northwest Regional Offices that could be housed at Town Hall includes but is not limited to:
• Distrct Attorney/Jusitce Center
• 8th Councilmatic District Office
• State Representative Office
• WIC
• Public Assistance
• L and I
• Community Meeting rooms
Germantown Town Hall is a significant architectural keystone in the Northwest Philadelphia neighborhood of Germantown. Located at 5928 Germantown Ave/Haines Street. Germantown Town Hall is a city owned property. In 1982 it was put on the National Register of Historic Places Inventory for Colonial Germantown Historic District.
Originally built in 1855 and rebuilt in 1923 Town Hall served as a hub of regional municipal services for the residences of the Northwest neighborhoods of Philadelphia.
This petition is in support of renovating, revitalizing and restoring Town Hall to its original use, that of Regional Municipal Services.
The momentum is undeniable. This building deserves a new future as a hub for our community.

I recently heard on Gtown radio that there will be a meeting in regards to ideas about the building. If anyone knows where and when the meeting will be held could you please pass it on. Thanks

This place has been sitting empty for way too long. Its an eyesore right now but it could be such a great resource for everyone living around here.

Its such a waste to keep it closed up. We spend way too much time traveling to center city for simple stuff when we could just walk to haines st.

RESTORE IT. Use it for offices like it used to be. Keep the history and bring some jobs back to the ave.

Does anyone know if the city has any actual plans for the interior or is it just rotting from the inside out? Really hope they do something before it crumbles.

PLEASE fix this building. My grandmother used to talk about how lively the town hall was when she was a girl. We need that energy back in germantown.
