i just finished planting 39 trees that cost me $1600 just for trees additional $300 to rent augers and $300+ for soil and mulch to replace all the shrubs you mowed down in my backyard.! This took me many days and hours with my arthritic hands to complete! Stay off of my propeety @ 68 maple dr greenland NH!!! You cut trees that created sounded barrier as well at top of hill and i can see cars going by on highway and cant hear myself think when im in my backyard. You have ruined my property!

Only diseased weak trees should be chopped instead of trimmed

I think sometimes utilities, because they don't know better, "trim" more than necessary to be on the safe side. With input from tree experts, it would be far more preferable to cut only what is really needed.

Keep the trees. We all need them, especially our kids.

As a Newington resident, I oppose any tree removal that is not needed. I agree, there are too many trees marked.

There are likely a number of people who would volunteer their time, skill, and/or money to care for these trees, trim them away from power lines, etc. in fact I'm positive there are! Please don't just kill the trees in an effort to save money.

I lived in Greenland during my childhood and am still a resident of the Seacoast area. I hate it when I see removal of mature trees that don't necessarily need to be taken. I understand the reasoning behind pruning and maintaining tree care especially around power lines, however please reconsider the number of wonderful species you are removing. Not only are they good for nature but they are good for people's health and happiness. Thank you.

This is overzealous and unneccessary. Stop ruining the landscape if New Hampshire we all love so much!

"Large hardy oaks with 250 year potential and no defects. As an arborist with extensive experience cutting and preserving trees and working on storm damaged trees this is an outrage and would be an unnecessary loss for the residents of Greenland and those who travel its roads. Yes, many of the trees should come down, but far too many are tagged." Local arborist Micum Davis of Cirnerstone Tree Service

Please save the trees from unnecessary cutting. We enjoy them, the environment needs them and you can often trim without taking the whole tree.

I am very outraged with Eversources selection of many trees that I have seen tagged. Large hardy oaks with 250 year potential and no defects. As an arborist with extensive experience cutting and preserving trees and working on storm damaged trees this is an outrage and would be an unnecessary loss for the residents of Greenland and those who travel its roads. Yes, many of the trees should come down, but far too many are tagged.

The tree cutters made a mess of our street. It looks like a disaster area where they had finished! They had assured me they would haul away the debris but did not. They cut far more than they needed to. Their assertion that they discuss tree by tree with the landowner is a gross exaggeration and out right lie. I will not let them cut on my property again until this issue is resolved. Thank you. Netta Hart

Utilities that serve the public should not bully them. Engage and discuss honestly. Be transparent.

We fully agree that these old trees typify early New England and that they should be cared for and treated with historical respect. To graphically illustrate please consider the following factual example:
Country Club Lane, the entrance to the Portsmouth Country Club is approximately two city blocks long, it is lined with majestic old Maples; many of these purported to be more than two hundred years old.. Over the past 40 years we, my wife and I, have watched many of these giants age and slowly lose their vitality. The management of the country club and grounds superintendent must be congratulated on their continuing efforts to preserve this majestic historical stand. As these giants have aged and died over the years they have been replaced with transplants, the Lane is still beautiful and will remain so because management cares.
That lane is an example of what can be done with judicious thought and planning.
