Vermont has an arcane law that requires electric companies to mail paper bills to customers. There is no way to receive an electronic (or email) version of your electric bill if you live in Vermont. Almost every other state in the US allows utility bills to be emailed, yet Vermont, which prides itself on it's strong record of environmental stewardship, forces utilities to waste thousands of pounds of paper and fuel in printing and mailing utility bills. It's time for Vermont to live up to it's green name by changing this outdated and now wasteful law by allowing utilities to email monthly bills to customers who request this service. Please lend your support to this campaign and pass it on to your friends and family who care about the environment in Vermont.

It will be presented to the public officials responsible for changing this policy once we collect enough signatures.
