Let Your Voice Be Heard - Save Grandchild Swim!!

I understand insurance concerns, but the price is outrageous! We do not need 3 lifeguards for that little pool! In fact, it seems that no lifeguards are needed as in the past, if we strictly adhere to the rule that grandparents must be in the water with their grandchildren! Our grandchildren cannot be here till next summer (2026), when they will be here for a week at the most. So we will not pay the outrageous price. but please do not cancel totally.

I hope someone looks at the bylaws to see if a recall vote is possible.

The pool is for everyone in the community not a select few.

The grandchild swim is one of the few amenities we have used and feel betrayed that it is being taken away.

I feel grandchild swim could operate as it was in past years, with 3 days per week allotted and anyone can use the popl at that time. I feel grandparents can be responsible for their grands, as it is a small area and the time together is what the families are looking for. Those who don't follow rules should be held accountable. I don't have grands nearby so I feel that if there is a fee to be charged for lifeguards, it should be paid by those who use it for grand time swim (a small fee each time you use the pool). I enjoy seeing kids at the pool, and I can choose to go when kids are there, or when it is adults only. Hoping a resolution can be reached and families can accept the decisions made and move forward.

We moved here a few months ago from Sun City Anthem in Henderson, NV and there we had a welcoming attitude towards grandchildren at the pool during assigned hours of 11am - 2 pm three days a week. There was no lifeguards on duty. We really enjoyed taking our young grandchildren and they do remember those times. They all live nearby and I would like to bring them to the pool as we were told this way an amenity of the community. Thank you.

One of the biggest reasons people move to Anthem is to be close to children and grandchildren. The Board should be ashamed to cancel the Grandchild swim. I was on the original committee to arrange the paltry hours that the pool was open to grandchildren, and I see that it's still an issue. Like they say, "those who yell the loudest are heard." How sad.

Grandchildren, swim is a benefit for all members. We need to keep it in place, as it has been in the past.

Keep grandchild swim the same as its been for years.

This is down right silly to eliminate the grand child swim. I use the pool frequently, and typical show up about half an hour before the kids leave the pool. The age of the children I see are young and by no means rowdy. Next I believe eliminating the grand children swim lowers the valve of the homes in the neighbor. Lots of buyers would think bringing their grandchildren to the pool would be wonderful. This argument has existed since the pool opened the summer of 08. Point is, if the kids offend you don't go the the pool during that time. My granddaughter is grown so I really have no skin in this.

To have our pool open a few hours a week for grandparents to enjoy with their grandkids seems like a reasonable request. Grandparents should be responsible.

Most people moved to Anthem to be near their grandchildren. Let them enjoy pool time also!

I would like to see grandchild swim program continued as a benefit to the residents now that I understand the umbrella insurance policy has been updated accordingly

My granddaughter is extremely disappointed when I shared with her she cannot swim with grandpa Bob at Anthem. Moments I cannot bring back., very sad.

Being able to have family at the lodge is a very important reason why we moved here. Children keep us young and family keeps us strong.

We are suggesting to the Board to begin a Pool Ambassador program with 2-3 volunteers monitoring the pool during each Grandchildren Swim session. These Ambassadors would be dedicated to keeping the pool safe and enforcing rules by gently reminding Grandparents of the rules. The program could begin on May 27 the first day of Grandchildren Swim (hopefully.)

Grandchildren Swim has been a treasured tradition at AR for 17 years. There have been no serious incidents during those times. The Board of Directors need to listen to the residents who want the program restored. Everyone tell your neighbors to come to the Board meeting on Monday at 10am. Being there will add support and if you feel comfortable you can address the Board with your concerns.

Let's be a intergenerational family-friendly community by restoring an option for grandchildren to swim with their grandparents. That's family-friendly!

We have taken or granddaughters to the summer grandchild swim for at least 8 years and they love going with us to the pool. It is so sad that Anthem has become such a family unfriendly community.
