The school isn't going to have a chair for Julie at graduation because they think it "glorifies" suicide. We want to remember Julie. This is so wrong so I want to start a petition to get a chair for Julie.

I keep staring at the screen because I never dreamed this many people would actually speak up for Julie. It feels like the school might finally have to pay attention to us now that there are so many of you behind this.

Her friends and family deserve to have this for her. It should not matter the COD, in the past we have always had a chair for our fallen students.

Suicide is not glorious. Nothing we do can make it look glorious except the minds of those suffering. People who are suicidal will think about suicide with or without Julie's chair. I think by having Julie's memorial chair there people will see what they will lose if they take their life. So much can be gained to have Julie's chair there. Do it for the school. Do it for her friends. Do it for her family. But most importantly, do it for Julie.

Julie was a friend, one of the people I trusted most, and was a classmate. She deserves to graduate with us. It makes me extremely sad to know that the school doesn't want to honor her. She will always be in our hearts and memories, and deserves to graduate with us just as much as all of us.

Julie was one of my close friends. She impacted the school in many more ways besides her suicide. It is only right to give a student who was supposed to graduate this year a seat. This does not glorify suicide but shows the love and care that our community has for Julie and every student who is struggling.

This child needs to be recognized,. From personal experience this family needs this in their grief process also and so do all of her classmates!!!!!

This shouldn't be recognized as "glorifying" suicide. It should be a way in which to open a dialogue regarding mental health, bullying, suicide, and outreach programs. Shame on the school for denying this under the disguise of "not glorifying suicide"- when they obviously have an issue that is bigger than themselves and cannot fathom how to begin to correct it. Well, you can start by putting up this chair and staring that dialogue. Some students will only get that from their school environment. Times have changed- it's time our conversations and modes of involvement follow suit.

Giving Julie a chair does not glorify suicide!!! Nobody knows what this poor girls was going through at the time or if she was being bullied. She deserves to have a chair as everyone else!!
