I can't believe that they would take this privilege away from these hard working seniors for the sake of a new football field and stadium. Shame on the Gilmer Board of Education.

My tradition was hot and sweaty but it's not graduation if it's not on the field. Y'all are ruining that school.

These hard working graduates deserve to graduate just like the past and future graduates!! Graduating is more important then a football field. Use the CCMS football field! Congrats 2016,I hope y'all get to graduate!!

These students should be allowed to have their graduation. My child has, worked hard for this and I have looked forward to seeing him graduate. Cancelling graduation is not fair to him or any of the other graduating seniors.

What's wrong with our Education system that they would not have a graduation because of a timeline for a football field. If what this petition says is true I adamantly oppose terminating our 2016 graduation.

I believe graduation should be on the football field. I have a 2016 graduate who would like for as many family members who would like to come to be able to attend his graduation. This is a huge milestone in a person's life. If reconstruction of the football field is put above graduation, this will send the wrong message to students. Is academics less important than sports? I have children in sports and sports are a big part of our lives, so I'm not trying to be judgemental. But to move graduation inside of the gym instead of having it on the football field where graduating students want it...would be very sad and will dissapoint not only the students, but many families....

Having graduated from gilmer high in 2009, our graduation was held in the gym, due to the weather. I would've loved to experience graduation on the field!

I feel it's sad that they would try taking away what students have worked so hard for! Have they ever noticed the Joy and excitement on each students face as they are receiving their diploma? Or seen their faces when they look out upon the stands and see every face so proud of each student that walks across that field? If they paid enough attention this wouldn't be a issue!
