My graduation was in the gym! #2007. Cancelling graduation for a football field makeover???? This is the dumbest thing I'VE ever seen from a school. Yes, let's tell the youth that graduating is not as important as football games.

These young people have worked really hard for this day, I think that the graduation is by far more important than the deadline for a football field re-doing!!!!

As a Gilmer High school graduate of 2010. Nothing should be put before giving a student their diploma. Especially a football field. And on the football where they should have the ceremony they can have their whole family there in support. My graduation was in the gym and only could have 6 of my family members come which stunk! Compromise and wait till after next season!

Hi Gilmer County Board of Education my name is Terri Grizzle My children and I are new to your community and this is their first year in your school. I'm sure you have sense enough to make sure that the future of ellijay are not disrespected by saying to them that they are less important than a football field !!! Considering that u have more graduates than you do wins in a season

I totally agree with these students.They have worked 12 years or more for this culmination of events.Only to be limited in fellow revelers to enjoy it with them.Please reconsider giving these kids their lifetime memory.It is only going to be a short delay.You are really sending scholars the wrong message.Sports are important,but not more than scholars.

i didnt go to this school but graduation is more important than some stupid football feild i can't believe you are even thinking about canceling graduation to reconstruct a football feild do you even know how stupid you sound .?? These kids worked hard to get to where they are and they deserve to graduate on time !!!

I loved me the day I graduated from high school if y'all take that away from senior reckon how many kids will quit school think about it that would be take education away from kids bc really whts the point in going to school if your not going to have proper graduation
